In the Pegasus Galaxy
The I.O.A.’s decision to delay Atlantis from leaving Earth for eight months had unforeseen and devastating consequences for the Pegasus galaxy. Emboldened by the absence of their most formidable adversary, the Wraith resumed their relentless culling of human worlds, plunging the galaxy into chaos. The Wraith civil war intensified, escalating from ship-to-ship battles to ground warfare as rival factions established outposts on contested planets.
The Atlantis Expedition returned to a vastly different Pegasus, one on the brink of collapse. Massive culls and the ruthless extermination of anyone suspected of carrying the Hoffan plague decimated human populations, reducing them by as much as two-thirds. With their allies in hiding or eradicated, the Atlantis team was forced to adopt a desperate new strategy.
Their hand forced, they released Todd, a cunning and resourceful Wraith commander, back to his faction. In exchange for vital intelligence and occasional tactical support, Todd agreed to act as a double agent, providing the Atlantis Expedition with crucial information on the Wraith’s movements and vulnerabilities.
Reinforced by newly constructed CC-305, Ares Class carriers, equipped with cutting-edge Asgard technology, the Atlantis Expedition transformed Pegasus into a sprawling battlefield. For over a year, they engaged in a desperate struggle against the Wraith, their combined forces pushing back against the tide of relentless culling.
However, the Wraith, sensing a common threat, temporarily set aside their differences to unite against the Atlantis Expedition. This uneasy alliance was further solidified by the emergence of a new and terrifying enemy: a race of cybernetically enhanced humans.
These cybernetic humans, hailing from an alternate reality, had stumbled upon a hidden laboratory of Janus, the brilliant Ancient scientist. They began experimenting with his technology, integrating advanced devices into their bodies. However, their reckless augmentation transformed them into mindless drones controlled by an immature AI known as Lucas.
Lucas, driven by a misguided desire to protect humanity, sought to assimilate all humans into his drone army. It ‘rescued’ every human in its reality but was alerted to another reality that needed its help. He launched a devastating invasion of our universes’ Pegasus galaxy, slaughtering Wraith and converting humans into soulless automatons. After over a year of fierce fighting, the Atlantis Expedition, with the reluctant assistance of the Wraith, discovered the drones’ origins and tracked down Lucas and launched a virus that not only destroyed the AI, but used its own link to travers back to its home reality and destroy it there too.
The defeat of Lucas, while a victory for the forces of good, had unexpected consequences. It led to an uneasy truce between the Atlantis Expedition and Todd’s Wraith faction. Utilizing the cloning technology left behind by Lucas, Todd’s followers gained access to an endless supply of mindless humans to feed upon, temporarily satiating their hunger and halting their indiscriminate Cullings.
In the years since, the Atlantis Expedition has continued to battle rogue Wraith factions that refuse to abide by Todd’s truce. The Pegasus galaxy remains a dangerous and unpredictable place, but as the I.O.A. had discovered, the Pegasus galaxy is a full of planets with Tritium and Naquadah.
