     The Prometheus, a unique Type A vessel, stands as the prototype for this class, showcasing the Tau'ri's early foray into starship construction. The subsequent Type B escorts, boasting enhanced weaponry, armor, and fighter complements, have become formidable protectors of convoys and valuable assets in combat scenarios. Type C scouts, prioritizing speed and agility, sacrifice fighter bays for upgraded engines and power generation, making them ideal for reconnaissance and rapid response missions.
